Episode #151 — A Year Later: Redirection, Reinvention, and What We’ve Learned
We’re back in the studio today, and honestly, it feels really good. A year ago, Kim and I were standing at a major crossroads. After ten years of building a business we loved, it came to an end, and while that day could’ve felt devastating, it actually became one of the greatest redirections of our lives. Looking back now, I see how that ending made space for everything that followed.
We handled it differently, and that’s okay. I was ready to pivot and move quickly. I’ve been through business losses before, and I’ve learned not to attach my identity to any one title or company. Kim, on the other hand, needed time to process, breathe, and figure out what came next. Watching her rebuild, find her footing again, and create something so meaningful has been inspiring.
In this episode, we talk about what that journey has really looked like, the messy middle, the fear, and the freedom that comes from starting over. Kim shares how she co-founded the Lumina Institute, a new coaching school built on accreditation, integrity, and heart. I’ve seen the work behind it, the late nights, the courage, and the faith , and I couldn’t be prouder of her.
This past year has also brought a lot of personal change. We welcomed Kim’s mom into our home, added our new pup Clive to the family, and learned how to lead ourselves through a very full season.
If there’s one takeaway, it’s this: change doesn’t mean chaos. Sometimes what looks like an ending is really just life clearing space for something even better.
Thanks you all for listening!
